International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR) • Network of universities engaged in implementing academic programs in addiction studies • Advocacy within universities to develop academic programs in addiction studies • Engage students and professionals in academic programs and promote career opportunities • Enhance partnerships between university programs, addiction professionals, and the science and practice communities

International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR) • Advance applied research in addiction prevention and treatment • Develop guidelines and standards for academic programs in addiction studies • Advocate for policy change • Support development of academic programs in addiction studies • Enhance addiction prevention and treatment services

  4. ICUDDR Milestones • Hosted two international conferences (Honolulu, Hawaii – 2016; Prague, Czech Republic – 2017) • Web site: http://www.icuddr.com/ • Selected management team, board of directors • 2018 conference: June 4-5, La Jolla, California

Goals Identify universities in U.S. and Canada that are implementing programs in addiction studies Disseminate UTC curriculum to universities Engage and network with universities Monitor implementation and adaptation of UTC Support development and growth of ICUDDR Enhance UTC evaluation and mentorship activities UTC Coordinating Center for North American Universities at USF

  7. Next Steps for UTC Coordinating Center at USF • Strategic planning with Advisory Committee • Database of universities with addiction studies programs • Enroll universities as UTC education providers • Evaluation survey instruments • UTC mentorship framework

How Coordinating Centers can Support ICUDDR • Assess needs of ICUDDR members • BuildICUDDR web site and links • Host webinars (e.g., addiction studies, advances in addiction science) • Organize learning communities • Develop online resource library (e.g., curricula, syllabi) • Encourage joint research projects (e.g., impact of addiction studies programs on career paths)
