  2. Description • Classification: The scientific name for the grey kangaroo is the Marcropus Fuliginosus • Kingdom: Animal Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia • Shape: They are a little smaller than other kangaroos. • Length: 80-100cm long Average Height: 5ft 3in • Colors: grey, and brown

  3. Habitat • They mostly live in the Eastern parts of Australia. • There environment is plains, and desert. • Fun Fact: there back foot is about 25cm long!!

  4. Diet They are vegetarians (they don’t eat meat). They mainly eat grasses, and fresh leaves. Fun Fact: there are over 55 species of kangaroo and kangaroo means big foot

  5. Family life • The Grey Kangaroo is pregnant with them for 29-38 days or, 4-5 weeks. They hold there young in a pouch for 12 months. They have one Joey at a time but sometimes there are twins. They can put there pregnancy on hold if it is to hot or to cold.

  6. Social Behavior • They like to stay in packs when threatened. They can run up to 13-16 mph. The world record was 64mph.

  7. Characteristics • They are usually calm and they don’t attack people unless provoked. • They can jump up to 13.5 meters. • There defenses are great eyesight, and a great sense of smell. • They can live up to 18 years!!

  8. History • They were discovered in 1788 when the first fleet of English men arrived in Sydney. • There are over 1.5 million grey kangaroos. The can get attacked by dingo’s and some farmers shoot them.
