  10. General School Regulations

  11. Visitors • No visitors are allowed on campus, including: • Siblings • Pets • Friends

  12. Transportation(Bus Rules) • MLSIANS are expected to abide by a number of rules to ensure their safety on the school bus. Therefore they are expected to: 1- Stay in their seats. 2- Keep their heads and hands inside at all times. 3- Behave decently on the bus, to all present. 4- Keep the school bus cassette recorder turned off. 5- Change their bus only on the last school day of the 1st and 2nd term. 6- Get to the bus on time, otherwise they will miss it.

  13. Loitering • No loitering is allowed in the vicinity of the campus before, during, and after school. • Students are not allowed on another school campus during school hours without getting an Off Campus Pass.

  14. Break Time • Students aren’t allowed to place their bags in the classrooms before the school day starts. • During break time, Staying in the classroom is not permitted except upon teachers instructions and in their presence only.

  15. Homework • Parents are kindly required to follow up the H.W assignments given. • Make sure your child has done his H.W • Don’t help. • Don’t explain to him/ her.

  16. Homework Offence: For Students who neglect doing their H.W: • Marks will be deducted every time he/ she comes to school without doing the H.W. • If this action is repeated, the student will face detention and will be deprived of all activity lessons. • Parents will be notified in writing on regular basis.

  17. School Disciplinary Code

  18. Absence • Absence for 3 successive days: 1- for illness: a medical certificate is required. 2- for travel or other emergencies: contact the student affairs office for required documentation.

  19. Tardiness • Students who use private cars should be on time before the morning lines at 7:40. • A tardy student must report to the Headmistress office to face the following measures: 1st time  he/she will not attend the first lesson. 2nd time he/she will not attend the first four lessons. 3rd time he/she will be sent home and will not attend any of the scheduled lessons.

Graffiti is not tolerated (on desks, walls, books, binders, etc.) • Swearing, disrespectful language, and profanity are unacceptable. • Fighting is not tolerated before, during, or after school. • Use of the school phone is limited to emergencies only. Students must ask permission to use office phone and staff will dial the number.

  22. Possessions and Dress Code

  23. School Uniform • Students are required to be in full school uniform daily. • Plain black/ white shoes of all kinds and brands • No jewelry. • No nail polish. • No skinny trousers.

  24. Cell Phones • Zero Tolerance Policy • Cell Phones are to be turned off and stored deep into pockets or purses prior to students stepping foot on campus. At no time are they to be seen or in use while the student is on campus. • Students will face disciplinary action for violation of this rule.

  25. Electronic Devices • Students are not allowed to bring electronic devices to school, such as: • Audio devices (I-pods, etc…) • Electronic games • Laser pointers • Cameras

  26. Other Important Rules • No dice or playing cards. • Possession or use of tobacco products is not allowed on or near campus. • Harassment in any form (verbal, physical, or visual) will not be tolerated. • Swiss knives are not allowed on or in the vicinity of the campus.

  30. Student Council • It is intended to expose the students to experience self government and cooperation amongst themselves. • Students take part in active service . • The council is established following a class election. • Meetings are held during break times.

  31. Exams and Quizzes

  32. Exams and Quizzes • Weekly quizzes in all subjects. • Secondary stages: monthly exams. • Prep stages: Midterm exams.

  33. Field Trips and Festivals

  34. On the last Thursday of each month a festival will be held. Each festival will have a different theme. • Field trips days are fixed on the school calendar. • Students should wear the uniform on educational trip days.

  35. School/ Home Relations

  36. Parents Meeting & Channel book • Parents meetings are arranged to give updated feedback to parents. • Dates for these meetings are fixed on the school calendar. • Urgent messages are sent to the parents via the channel notebook.

  37. Individual Counseling • Parents are welcome to meet the staff to discuss individual urgent matters on Wednesdays after taking appointments with the school. Principal office hours • Parents are welcome to meet the school principal for any suggestions, inquiries or complaints on Tuesdays from 10:00 am till 12:00

  38. Role of Parents

  39. Kindly encourage your child to read books. This will go along way in developing good communication skills & language skills. Verbal skills are as important as writing skills. • Encourage your children to read newspapers everyday. • Students must be involved in day to day discussions at home to update their knowledge on current affairs and general knowledge.

  40. Parents must encourage positive attitude of children and ensure constructive interactions. • Exaggerate about your child’s strengths, shower praise on him and gently highlight his/ her weaknesses. • For children both of whose parents are working and even where one parent is working, it is important to spend quality time with your children. • Monitor your child when they are surfing the net.
