Characters • Katniss-an 15 year old girl who’s not the best at making friends and who is great with a bow and arrow. • Peeta- a nice kid who works at a bakery with his dad. • Haymitch- a man who won the hunger games before and is almost never sober. • Effie- a person who draws the names at the reaping.

  3. Setting • The book takes place in district 12 Panem (which is the ruins of North America).

  4. Plot This book is about a 15 year old girl named Katniss who goes to the reaping to see Effie pick names out of a glass bowl. The reaping is when all the children enter to go to the hunger games and 2 people are picked from each district. The Hunger games is when 24 tributes fight to the death in till there is only 1 man or woman standing. Will Katniss be picked? Read the book to find out.
