Senior Ranger Partnerships The purpose of the PVN is to help organizations effectively involve volunteers in caring for parks and lands adjacent to parks across Australia and New Zealand. We do this through freely sharing knowledge and resources regarding strategic volunteer management amongst Parks Forum members, and learning from each other's experiences.

A Growing Partnership PVN survey of 25 park agencies in August 2012 aimed to • Better understand the extent of volunteer programs • Identify policies and operational programs that have been developed and implemented • Identify innovative programs to manage volunteers • Identify key contacts to share knowledge and information

A Growing Partnership PVN Survey found • 95% of park agencies actively support volunteer involvement • 14 Agencies - a total of approx 1,691,000 volunteer hours • Volunteer programs delivered through partnerships • Community participation wide spread, agencies also engage school students and corporate groups

A Growing Partnership PVN Survey found • 96% of agencies recognise and reward volunteer contributions • Most have current policies and procedures (<5 years) to describe or guide their volunteer strategy • 80% committed to continuous improvement of volunteer programs • Many promoting a more positive attitude to volunteers.
