CSC Production at IHEP Beijing Tension/Pitch Machine Setup • Preparation: • Buy Video Monitor, Survey Tools: Flatness Ruler Gradienter, .. • Transportation: • 2001.3.29 Machine arrived, Using Rail Moving Method. • Install: • Stand up the frame, Repair injured cable of the stand up motor. • Mounting sensor head. • 2001.4.24 Power on, Basic function check ok.

CSC Production at IHEP Beijing Tension/Pitch Machine Setup • Alignment: • Mounting the anode panel hold bar with newly machined screws, Adjust position according to the size of ME1/2 prototype panel. • 2001.5.31 Start tuning the machine with the ME1/2 panel. • Error happened: Some 0 tension: found 1 cable connection problem; 3~4 thin wires, their tension are 0, they are closed to the thick wires: adjust the camera position, re-align the camera with sensors, modify the parameters in the DEFAULTS file. • 2001.6.21 Measurement is ok. Take ~1.5 hours for one single side. • Problem: Transformer Wetted Accidentally • 2001.5.17, there are 220V on the machine frame: solved with drying.

CSC Production at IHEP Beijing Capacitance Meter Setup • Preparation: • Buy a new PC, Cable making, PC board mounting, Software setup... • Problem: • Power problem: Fuse burns on SCM-16 when connected SCM-16 with the new PC, when with the 110V PC, no fuse burn. Finally built new lab. Ground, and connect the GND of 220V to the GND of 110V power, problem solved. • Software problem 1: Run error, Invalid Board Number: Install CDAS8JR driver, this problem was solved, But • Software problem 2: ADC result is always 0. Finally, we dig out that the problem comes from the Labview software package and solved the problem.

CSC Production at IHEP Beijing Conclusion • We have : • Finished the Measurements for the two ME1/2 and ME1/3 prototypes. • Wrote the Device Operation Manual in Chinese. • Set up the network for the CMS Group. • We plan: • Modify the anode panel clamps in both ME1/2 and ME1/3 cases. • Calibrate the tension measurement: Plan to use the device from MDC group; Make a new wiring device for thick wire(tensions were always too low,<450g).
