  3. What is the past perfect tense? The past perfect tense is quite an easy tense to understand and to use. This tense talks about the "past in the past". It is a complete action before something in the past. The past perfect tense describes events or situations that precede another point in the past that has been established through the the present perfect or the simple past. The Past Perfect expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. It can also show that something happened before a specific time in the past. Basic form Subject+ HAD + Verb (past participle form)

  4. What do we use the past perfect tense for? USE 1 Completed Action Before Something in the Past The Past Perfect expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past. It can also show that something happened before a specific time in the past USE 2 Duration Before Something in the Past (Non-Continuous Verbs) With Non-Continuous Verbs and some non-continuous uses of Mixed Verbs, we use the Past Perfect to show that something started in the past and continued up until another action in the past. Use 3 IMPORTANT Specific Times with the Past Perfect Unlike with the Present Perfect, it is possible to use specific times with the past perfect tense.

  5. How do we use the past perfect tense We were too late. The train had left. There have two part of sentence, first part is “we were too late” that happen after train left. But when we arrived here is still past tense means not happen right now. So we use the past perfect tense here to describe things happen before another things happen in the past.
