  1. COMPARISON BETWEEN LEAN PHASE & DENSE PHASE PNEUMATIC CONVEYING SYSTEM SR. NO. 01 Power Consumption is less 02 Smooth Working LEAN PHASE DENSE PHASE Power consumption is more Requires maintenance High pressure system, adequate safety measures to be taken Batch process Lots of moving Compressor, Dome valve, Isolation valves High material to air ratio means high chances of chocking. Low pressure system – Low risk 03 04 Continuous process No moving parts other than RAV and Blower Less Material to air ratio means less chances of chocking the conveying lines Large pipes used, which makes material flow easier and smooth 05 06 Small pipes used, makes material movement difficult 07 Lots of proprietary items used like dome valves, isolation valves, PLC with programming etc. Uses all parts available in the open market. No proprietary spares used. 08 No separate compressor needed, only instrument air is sufficient which can be provided from the existing utilities Cheaper and better system Rairity of material in conveying pipes, which means particles do not touch each other Separate compressor for conveying is required. 09 10 11 Costlier System Dense particles touch each other under force that means choking. Requires frequent opening of lines and cleaning material means 12 Once installed pipes need not be open and cleaned.
