    2. What are Internal Models? How do we move? Intention -> motor commands -> movement Eye movements, arm movements, tongue movements Increasing evidence suggests that we predict the consequences of our motor commands, and use that to plan movement. The predictive models are internal to the central nervous system, hence the term “internal”.

    3. Terminologies of Internal Models Feed Forward Model Intention -> motor commands ->movement Feedback model Error checking: where do I think I am now? Need to know this in order to adjust movement. Feedback delay It takes time to estimate current positions and to calculate the next move. It is particularly demanding in fast movement. Efferent copy Evidence show that we estimate where we are by making a copy of our outgoing motor command, and use that to predict where we are. Inverse model Predict what motor commands is needed in order to achieve a desired movement trajectory
