  2. Logic Grid Puzzles • To solve a puzzle, find out where both elements of a clue intersect and mark the appropriate answer = True X= False Clue - Jane does not like the color green.

  4. If one fact in a grid is true, this means that every other answer in that row and column for the specific grid is NOT true. Simon CAN’T be 12, or 18, or 21! Peter, Jane & Alice are NOT 15 = True X= False Simon is 15

  5. Try this Puzzle: Five mothers decided to take their adorable children to the park. Each woman allowed her child to bring one toy. All the children raced to the sandbox with their toy. They had so much fun in the sandbox that all the toys got mixed up, and each mother lost track of her child. Can you help them sort this mess out so each child goes home with the correct toy, and each parent goes home with the correct child?Mothers: Shelby, Monica, Lisa, Abbie, and MarieChildren: Zach, Tim, Christopher, Laura, and NatalieToys: dump truck, shovel, bucket, doll, and car

  12. Clue 4- part 1 • 4) The doll belongs to Abbie's daughter.

  13. Clue 4- part 2 4) The doll belongs to Abbie's daughter. • Let’s examine this clue VERY Closely. Think about the choices for Abbie’s daughter Who are the Girls?? (Girls can only be daughters, not sons.)

  14. Natalie & Laura are the only girls but we know that Laura is Lisa’s Daughter. • Therefore, Natalie • Must be Abbie’s

  15. Clue 5 5) Zach is Marie's son.

  16. Now our grids look like this: Each grid has to have one positive answer, so this HAS to be Green

  17. And THIS HAS to be Green

  18. There are two things we don’t know • Does Tim have the car or dump truck? • Does Zach have the car or dump truck?

  19. We need to fill in the bottom grids to find out. • We know that Abbie’s child, Natalie has the doll, so fill in this info in the bottom grid.

  23. Each row has to have one green so

  24. If we now know that Tim has the dump truck, we can complete the rest of the info in the top right grid We’ve solved the puzzle! Yay!!
