  1. CMAT – The What’s and the When’s Answered! Introduction The number of MBA aspirants is increasing with each passing day. However, in order to pursue an MBA course from a reputed college, one would need to appear and qualify an entrance exam like CAT, MAT, CMAT etc. Qualifying any of these exams with a high score will help you secure a seat with the college of your choice. Addressed below are the what’s and the when’s regarding the CMAT exam. What is CMAT? CMAT stands for common management admission test. It is a computer-based test that is conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Like CAT, it is another national level admission test that facilitates institutions to select suitable students for admission in management programs. The test is to be attempted in a span of 3 hours. When is CMAT conducted? Until 2016, CMAT was conducted twice a year. But from 2017, it is conducted once a year. The CMAT registration starts from October and is open until December. The admit card is uploaded few days before the exam, which is to be held towards the end of the month of January. What is the Format of CMAT? The format of the CMAT comprises of four sections based on quantitative technique, logical reasoning, language comprehension and general awareness. There are 25 questions each, which if attempted correctly award 4 marks and wrong answer attracts a negative mark. What is the eligibility and Test fee for CMAT? Any Indian graduate with 50% aggregate marks in any discipline can appear for CMAT. Final year graduates are also eligible to apply. The test fee of CMAT is INR 1400 for general and OBC candidates and INR 700 Female, SC, ST, PWD candidates. What are the colleges under CMAT? Some of the most reputed colleges like MDI Gurgaon, International Management Institute Kolkata, Jagan Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi accept CMAT scores.
