Observe the symptoms better and in either cases, medical help is recommended. ❏ Diagnosis for Meneire’s Disease Your ENT doctor might examine the ear physical and recommend the balancing test and perform a hearing ability check. ● Audiometry - This test is performed to determine the level of hearing. In this test, the person is made to wear a headphone and various sounds will be played at various pitches. He or she needs to confirm if they are able to hear the sound or not.

  3. The test also includes telling the difference between two similar sounds, repeating the words that are being played, This will be conducted for both ears to know if the hearing loss (if there is) is in one ear or in both. ENT hospital ● Electronystagmography (ENG) - This device determines the balance responsiveness of the body. As eye and ear coordination is detrimental for balancing, two electrodes will be placed around the to check the eye movement. Cold or hot water is pushed inside the ear which enables the balance function of the ear, causing the involuntary movement of the eyes. Later on these movements will be checked to see if there are any abnormalities. ❏ The Treatment Process Followed by the findings of these tests and the other regular tests such as head MRI and cranial CT scan (to find tumors in the brain) the doctor will determine the presence of Meneire’s disease. The treatment process depends on the level of the condition. If the symptoms are mild, the ENT specialist might prescribe medications to ease the symptoms. In advanced conditions vestibular rehabilitation is recommended which improves the balancing ability. Also, the doctor might consider the options of hearing aids, and the endolymphatic sac procedures if the condition is severe.
