  2. Projects background Business networks, like clusters, play crucial role in economic reality. There is a positive correlation between the strength of regional portfolios and regional innovation performance. The existing economic networks in Lithuania and in Poland have several problems with performance management as well as business animation. They have to be equipped with tools and methods enable them to improve management performance and foster the economic development of the cluster itself, as well as the wholeregional economy.

  3. Overall goal of the project To transfer innovative methods of business performance management and business animation in economic networks as well as contribute to social and economic cohesion

  4. Specific goals • To assess the actual competence of the selected trainers in business performance management • To train 20 trainers on managing and animation the business networks • To develop 20 Plans of business performance management • To develop 1 managerial "tool kit" • To amend the 20 Plans according to the feedback after the pilot testing implementation phase • To develop the textbook and an article on business performance management in European networks • Disseminate results of the project in 2 international conferences

Some remarks –recommendations for cluster managers as well as business entities • To build awareness with respect to clustering and the advantages of cluster membership • To build mutual trust among cluster members • To activate cluster members • To plan strategic activities and optimise management processes • To seek alternative solutions for public funding of clusters • To work on improvement of innovativeness • To work on improvement of cooperation with the cluster’s surrounding • To work on improvement of cooperation with public administration • To seek and build partnerships with R&D sector present in the cluster’s surrounding

  12. Current activities of the WCK • Establishment of the first projects consortium (February 2013 r. – proposal in the PBS Program – positive substantial assessment, lack of financial approval. The proposal is going to be resubmitted in next call. • Participation in the Workgroup of the Wielkopolska Marshall Office – Implementation of the Regional Strategy of Innovation and Intelligent Specialisation • WCK – vouchers broker for entrepreneurs • Running the project under the WRPO 1.6 Framework „Development of the Cooperation Platform for „BIOREGION Wielkopolska Association” Agenda: development of communication system, including support for inter-cluster co-operation process • Running the project under the WRPO 1.6 Framework „Designing long-term R&D strategy, concept of the co-operation with R&D institutions, laboratory operation and multimedia cluster promotion • Participation in national and international conferences
