  2. What does Alta do? • Planning and designing streets, parks etc. • Operating Bike share systems in: • New York • Boston • Chattanooga • Melbourne

  3. What is Bike share? • A service in which bicycles are provided to the community as a green alternative mode of travel.

  4. What was my task? • To research ridership information of bike share systems across the U.S.A. and to assemble this information into an easy-to-use database. • To research new emerging forms of bike share. • To locate and mark the position of all stations of different bike share systems. • To write up a feasibility study of my own to summarize all I had learnt.

  5. Ridership Data • Allowed my boss to identify trends that will help inform future decisions is to face.

  6. New emerging forms of bike share • Non-station based bike share is a new form of bike share in which the technology in bike stations is transferred onto the bikes.

  7. Google Maps • Positioning the stations allows my boss to see different factors that affect the placing of bike share stations. Hotel Mall
