  3. Definitionofwater The word water comes from the latin aqua, it’s an odourless, insipid and discoloured substance, formed by two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Curiosities • Water is the component that appears in greater abundance in the earth's surface, it covers 71% of the planet. • It is vital for all known forms of life. • Wateronearth moves continuallythroughthewatercycleofevaporationandtranspiration, condensation, precipitationandrunoff, usuallyreachingthesea.

  5. Curiosities • 2/3 of our planet’s surface is covered with water but only 0.6% is drinking water. • The remaining 97% of the planet’s water is seawater, 2% is in glaciers and icebergs.
