Bigot noun adJ---Bigoted The free speech amendment in America protects the rights of everyone, including bigots, unfortunately, like the Fred Phelps’ followers who find it necessary to spread hate. • One who is intolerant of differences; used sometimes to refer to someone who is racist; sexist; etc.

  3. expunge Verb-- expunge Ted wanted to expunge his 9th grade record from his transcript; he worried how it might affect his overall GPA and wanted to go to a prestigious college. • To erase or eliminate

  4. manifest • V-to show itself; to appear or prove itself; to make clear • Her anger toward her mom manifested in her slamming her door and refusing to come out of her room.

  5. negligence • Noun- careless neglect; often resulting in injury • The parent was accused of negligence for not putting his daughter in a car seat.

  6. candid • Outspoken; blunt; honest • I’d like to say I like your haircut, but to be perfectly candid, I don’t.

  7. appease • V- to calm or make satisfied (at least temporarily) • To appease the crying baby we gave her the pacifier.

  8. augment • V-to increase in amount or intensity; to enlarge • To augment my income, I took a second job.

  9. ostentatious • adj-pretentious; showy; grandiose; extravagant • Some people dress in an ostentatiousmanner in the name of fashion.

  10. conundrum • Noun-a problem or predicament that is difficult or that can not be solved • Tom faced a conundrum when he realized that he had both a soccer match and a baseball game scheduled for the same day and time.

  11. wane • verb- to diminish, fade, get smaller, decrease in size • As the rain began to wane, I took off my raincoat.
