Introduction to the Regents Admission Index (RAI) • Regent Universities are Iowa, ISU, and UNI • Highly sought after because they are state schools and therefore cost less than other 4 year postsecondary institutions. • RAI formula for admission is: • 2x your ACT score • 1x your H.S. rank • 20x GPA • 5x number of core courses (Eng, Math, SS, Sci, Spanish)

  2. RAI Scores Automatic admission to Regent schools: 245 Scholarships: Distinguished Scholars at UNI 320 and above = $2,500 /year 300-319 = $1,000/year Below 300 (need 28 ACT)= $1,000/year

  3. How do I Calculate my RAI? WEBSITE CALCULATOR www.regents.iowa.gov/RAI/index.html • Highest Composite ACT score • Current class rank and GPA • Core course number • Add up your total core courses (divide by 2) from your transcript. • All math, all science (except Human Life), all Social studies, all Spanish, and all English courses count.

  4. How do I Increase my RAI? • The most efficient way is to take more core courses. Each one is 2-3 points. • Improve your ACT composite score by preparing in advance. • Do your best in ALL your courses to improve rank and GPA.
