APDP • NAACAM Support Program. • Greatful for replacement of MIDP. • Appreciative of Minister and DTI efforts. • MIDP unplanned negative effect – increase in imported vehicles. • APDP to be finalised and implemented. • No further reduction in Gross Import Duties. • Assurance required to ensure Localisation.

  8. Localisation • Need to be deepened. • Approval at Project Presentation Phase. Linked to local content. • Need to be above 70%. • Local Suppliers to be nominated. • Quarterly monitoring required. • Build assurance into Legislation. • BBBEE requirement build-in. • Penalties for not adhering to Plan.

  9. Employment • Industry down from 85 000 – 60 000. • Our Company down 3 000 from 8 500 to 5 500. • Impacted mostly by reduction in exports and increase in imports. • Liking for multi-national companies with foreign ownership with own imported supplier base.
