  3. Twitter in the business world Much like following a celebrity, people can follow a company. Created account (@Fliqz) and posted 3-4 updates a day. Realized direct value after helping a customer encode some video. Customer ended up tweeting good experience

  4. Pros vs. Cons Pros Cons Inexpensive Continuous updates of company (product lines, new services) Available on most devices Direct customer feedback User name confusion/fraud Time-sucker Tweeting too aggressively Direct customer feedback

  5. Discussion How many of you follow a company? Effective? Is Twitter already an advertising channel?

  6. Pinterest in the business world • Similar and different than Twitter. • Another new media source but with different users. • Majority of US users are women- 82% • Outside of US, users are mostly men- 57% UK, 79% Japan, 74% France. • Tapped into a unique market of “casual users.”

  7. Pinning for business Opportunity to strengthen relationships with customers or clients. Great place to show off products and build brand. Resource for customer insight.

  8. Discussion Will Pinterest continue to be a primarily female used website? Why do men not use Pinterest as much? Worth the effort to appeal to men?
