  5. Menenpoort / Menin Gate De Menenpoort is een herdenkingsmonument in de Belgische stad Ieper. De stadspoort werd in 1927 door de Britten gebouwd aan de oostzijde van de stad, ter nagedachtenis van de ongeveer 54.900 Britse soldaten die in de Eerste Wereldoorlog sneuvelden en niet meer geïdentificeerd of teruggevonden werden.. De poort is een van de herdenkingsmonumenten voor vermisten van de Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

  8. De Last Post is een trompetsignaal, gebruikt in verschillende legers. Het signaal wordt bij de meeste herdenkingen in Groot-Brittanniëen Commonwealth-landen wordt het signaal gebruikt. Oorspronkelijk werd het gespeeld als afsluiting van de dag. InIeper wordt het elke dag om 20 uur gespeeld onder de Menenpoort door de leden van de Last Post Association, als eerbetoon aan hen die sneuvelden in de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Dit ritueel doet men al sinds 1928, met enige onderbreking tijdens de bezetting van Ieper door de Duitsers,
