  1. Challenges And The Solutions For Managing The E-Commerce Product Catalog The internet is the open public network which has lots of commercial opportunities. The electronic commerce or e-commerce in short has a wide range of interactions with different market participants such as order, transport and delivery, invoice and payment, etc. Typical e-commerce transactions consist of suppliers and consumers gathering information and exploring the potential market partners for goods and services. But the e-commerce catalog holds most of the required information in the processes and the computerized nature of e-catalogs provides the opportunities to automate and streamline many of the processes. E-commerce transactions and catalog or product information management is the necessary feature for the every e-commerce portal, it includes e-procurement, e- marketplace, supply chain management (SCM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), etc. E-commerce portal has to consider the catalog management system as a separate individual system which requires the multiple functionalities of the portal. Managing the catalog system is very complicated because of various factors such as:  Diversity in the schemes of the products.  Diversity in users view.  Diversity in vocabulary. To reduce the complexity of the catalog management system requires standardization

  2. but no single standard can serve all the diverse purpose in the e-commerce environment. Here we are mentioning that the challenges and its solutions in managing the e-commerce catalog. Selling through multiple channels Most of the retailers sell through different platforms, some have brick and mortar stores, physical catalogs, e-commerce platforms, and even sell through the different marketplaces. In online catalog management retailers have to deal with a large number of information that requires a specific template or we can say that structure for every sales channel. It is very difficult to manage several spreadsheets and database and consistently provide quality data. Sometimes this leads to the confusion regarding the product information, which makes customer walk away from your portal. Product Information Management (PIM) systems have arisen as a way to organize data and it is adapted by different sales channels. Showing relevant merchandising Every e-commerce owner knows the importance of presenting the product in such a way that attracts customer but it is also important what products you present and why? This is the situation when customers are not being able to find a specific item they are looking for. The best solution for this issue is to gather the customer's data and carefully choose the products to show on the online store. If you want to show the relevant product from the very first day then the best technique is to focus on what the customer is looking for at the certain moment in time rather than analyzing who the customer is and what's their behavior. Scalability in online catalog management Scaling up e-commerce is challenging, especially when the online catalog is not properly structured or consistent. Adding more SKUs (Stock Keeping Unit) while avoiding inaccuracies or mistakes in your product is not possible for any brand and the difficulties might discourage from expending the content on the product pages. If you are using Excel for the catalog management purposes then it is not enough because Excel is not designed to fulfill e-commerce catalog management purposes. That's why you need a platform that can easily support your growth. E-commerce catalog management platform helps in achieving consistency across the product catalog and easily and effortlessly applying mass changes.

  3. Data consistency and ontology When you are trying to keep your data consistent several problems arises from typos to inconsistent category names and missing information. Traditional PIM systems have managed to unify data and provide a single source of information but having different providers and product writers are still quite challenging. Artificial Intelligence provides the solution to this problem by automatic product tagging through computer vision:  Recognizes product images  Classifies them to categories and subcategories with preferred voice tone.  Consistently assigns relevant attributes to the items. These are the challenges and solutions in managing the e-commerce product catalog management. Remember that image quality also plays an important role and it can be time-consuming to check that all the pictures have standard quality. Some tools are available which automatically find out images which are not suitable according to the standards.
