Summary The students had discussed among them some of the problems they face in their everyday life and conducted a questionnaire under the general topics : • Education • European identity • Economical crisis • Concerns for the future They had circulated it among 70 students and they presented the results.

  3. Section A’: Personal data Gender (boys-girls) 63 students from class A’ and age (15-16) took part in this questionnaire. Most of them are girls. The majority comes from two parents families with two siblings.

  4. Section A’: Personal data Interests/Hobbies According to our questionnaire the teenagers in their spare time mostly prefer to listen to music. Their second choice is sports and then follows cinema and a variety of other hobbies/interests.

  5. Section B’: Education In scale from 1-5 how much satisfied are you with your school? The majority was quite satisfied and a minority of about five teenagers was very content with their school.

  6. Section B’: Education What kind of problems do you face in your school? The main problem which the majority of students face at school is the limited school facilities. For example, there is a lack of gym, library, multi purpose hall etc. Many students believe that the second problem is the relationship between students-teachers. Some others claim that there isn’t any problem with school.

  7. Section B’: Education Do you believe school provides complete and efficient education? More than half of teenagers think that school doesn’t provide complete and efficient education, however 35 % of the respondents disagree with them.

  8. Section B’: Education If not satisfied, where do you turn to? Most of those who want further education than their school provides turn to private tuition and a smaller group turns to frontisthrio.

  9. Section B’: Education How many students are in your class? All students attend classes with more than twenty students and less than thirty.

  10. Section B’: Education Is bulling and peer pressure intense in your school? The vast majority of students think that there isn’t bulling and peer pressure in schools. However these kinds of phenomena are more common in bigger cities like Athens.

  11. Section C’: European identity How do you believe that the European Union affects your national identity ? Three quarters claim that the European Union doesn’t affect their national identity, the next big percentage 13% claims that it completes the national identity which is rather encouraging.

  12. Section C’: European identity How do you think the European Union affects the following? Democracy Most teenagers believe that the E.U. has affected positively democracy. Less students think that the E.U. has affected negatively it.

  13. Section C’: European identity Personal Freedom Many students claim that the E.U. has a positive impact on personal freedom and the next big percentage think that it hasn’t been affected at all.

  14. Section C’: European identity Social Justice(in European Environment) The majority of students think that the E.U. has affected negatively the social justice. Less students believe that it has a positive effect and many of them don’t see any difference.

  15. Section C’: European identity Nations’ Cooperation More than half students believe that nation’s cooperation has been positively affected.

  16. Section D’: Economical crisis Have you experienced the recent economic crisis in your family or friendly environment? The recent financial crisis hasn’t a big impact in students’ family and friendly environment.

  17. Section D’: Economical crisis If yes, which of the following have been affected the most(1-5) Because of the economical crisis the most affected areas are students’ pocket money, entertainment, extra curricular activities and psychology as well.

  18. Section D’: Economical crisis What do you think the immigration as a consequence of the economical crisis will impose? According to students immigration leads to the rise of racism and xenophobia both for people coming to our country and for people immigrating.

  19. Section D’: Economical crisis How do you face the prospect of studying or working in a multinational environment? Most students believe that they will start thinking about it depending on the circumstances, whereas 38% look at it positively starting from now.

  20. Section E’: Concerns for the future From 1-5 how optimistic are you about the future? The majority of students are pessimistic about their future.

  21. Section E’: Concerns for the future What will the future status be in the following? • Environment Most of students believe that the maintenance of environment is negative.

  22. Section E’: Concerns for the future Public Health The majority of pupils think that the future status of public health will be much worse. We started seeing differences even now.

  23. Section E’: Concerns for the future Violence/Criminal Rate The vast majority of students believe that the violence/criminal rate will be much worse in the future.

  24. Section E’: Concerns for the future Addictions to substances The majority of students believe that the addictions to substances will increase( drugs, alcohol, smoking).

  25. Section E’: Concerns for the future Economy The majority believe that the economy will get worse.

  26. Section E’: Concerns for the future Education The majority believes that the future status of education will deteriorate or remain the same.

  27. Section E’: Concerns for the future Employment Most of students believe that the employment status will get worse and they will face unemployment for sure.

  28. Section E’: Concerns for the future Racism The majority of students believe that in the future racism will be on the increase because of unemployment or immigration.

  29. Section E’: Concerns for the future Democracy The majority of teenagers tend to believe that in the future democracy will be affected negatively.
