  2. Objective • My desire is to pastor and lead a church. I see my role based on 1 Timothy 3 and Titus I to: • Set the example as faithful husband, father and man of God to the body to which I’ve been entrusted; Leading by example in all areas of my life; • Be faithful in my expositor preaching of biblical truth; • Do evangelism to seek the lost and establish relationships; • Be diligent and hard working, responsible to Shepherd; • Exemplify servant-leadership; • Be willing to suffer hardship and persecution in service for the Lord. Personal Information Childhood: I spent my childhood growing up in New Mexico. Marital Commitment and Family Status: God bless me with a Godly wife (Nan) who shares my call to ministry. We were married December 7, 1991. We met while in Young Life where we served high school students. Our lives together have from the beginning been ministry focused. Nan loves camping, outdoors, reading and sports. God has also blessed me with three awesome sons, Spencer (born 1995) who loves sports (particularly football), camping, outdoors and hanging out with his friends. Benjamin (born 1997) who loves playing guitar, camping, and sports. Jack (born 2000) who loves sports (especially football), and camping. All three of my sons have accepted Jesus Christ into their lives, been baptized and are showing signs of maturity in the faith. Interests: I enjoy sports, golf, fitness, snow skiing, hunting, reading and traveling. Conversion I was privilege to grow up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at the age of eight. Throughout high school I made many “new starts” and re-commitments to follow Jesus Christ, feeling that in the I had to have an exciting conversion story to validate my salvation. This led to emptiness and un-fulfillment. However, in 1986 was a turning point in my journey of faith where substance to the walk became the desire and the passion for Christ became the goal Michael Breeden Page 1

  3. Personal Background Calling to Ministry My desire to follow Jesus’ call on my life began in Middle School. It was ignored and almost forgotten until 1986. It was rekindled. While football at a local high school in Albuquerque this hunger for ministry lead me to join the staff of Young Life where I served for 10 years. Then coached football at the college level followed by a career in direct sales. My pilgrimage continued with a ministry at the Denver Rescue Mission and at Dallas Theological Seminary doing ministry with donors, in this area of advancement Preaching Philosophy Expository preaching is the communication of a biblical concept, derived from and transmitted through a literal study of a passage in its context, in which the Holy Spirit first applies my personality and experiences, then help make application to the individual. The intent of the message I communicate is multifaceted to captivate both the believer to a deeper walk and the seeker who is sensing the draw to faith. The Word does not return void. Formal Education Graduate: Dallas Theological Seminary Dallas, Texas 2012-13 (anticipated graduation date Master of Theology (ThM) Undergraduate: Azusa Pacific University Azusa, California 1995 BA Physical Education / Natural Science Future Goal: I desire to complete a Doctorate of Ministry (D.Min.) degree in the future. This degree will strengthen my ministry through shepherding the spiritual condition of the flock and enhance the spiritual health of the pastoral staff of the community of believers. • Spiritual Giftedness • Pastor / Shepherd • Teaching / Preaching • Evangelism Leadership Style My approach is a confident, assertive leadership style that is relational in nature. My heart is to lead as a servant leader in my action.
