  3. Title with table. Title Slide- two text lines only. Title with bulleted list and chart. Title with bulleted list. Title only. Title with bulleted list and picture. Blank slide. How do I Begin? • Open Office: Go to Project Gallery and choose Power Point Presentation. • New Slide Dialog box gives you several choices for first slide. Click Title Slide and press OK.

  4. Beginning Continued… • Before entering text: • Click on View menu • Select Toolbars • Select Standard, Formatting, Common Tasks, and Drawing • Now click in box ‘Click to add Title and enter your title and your name in box below.

  5. Font and font size Increase/decrease font size. How to add Text • Click in Box with bullets and begin typing • If you chose Blank Slide then select Text Box from Draw Menu ‘Draw box. Size it as you want, click inside and begin to type. • To change Font, Font size or Font color: Use formatting palette,on right side of screen, highlight what you want changed and select the various icons on the palette as needed.

  6. How to Add Slides • Select new slide from Common Tasks Menu or from the menu bar at top of screen (slide with a + on it.) Select New Slide… on the Common Tasks button on your toolbar. This area is an outline of your slide presentation Click here to add notes that will not appear in the slide show.

  7. Adding Clipart to Slide • In New Slide window, select the Text and Clipart template. Click OK. • Add text on bulleted side • To add a picture double click in the picturewindow. The Clip Gallery window will open. Select the desired clipart and click Insert. • Use Inserttoolbar to add art to other spaces on slide

  8. SavingMy Show What do you mean it is gone! • Go to File menu • Pull down Save as… • Save as: Name your show • Format: This is should be OK to leave where it is. • Where: Select where you want to save your show.

Adding Background • Go to Format Menu • Select Slide Background, select color and texture then preview, Apply to this slide only • Go back to Format Menu • Select Slide Design • Scroll through design templates • Select one, Click on Apply to this slide only if you don’t want it to be on every slide in the show. Select Apply button

  10. Viewing the Show • To view the slide show, Use the buttons in the bottom left hand corner of the slide window.(See graphic above) • Go to next slide to find out what each icon does.

  12. Moving Through the Show • You can begin your show by pressing the Slide Show menu option and select View Show button. Be sure you are on the first slide. • Move forward through the show by clicking the mouse or space bar. • Move backward by pressing the left hand arrow key. Slide Sorter View

  13. How To Exit the Show • While show is playing… • Go to the bottom left corner of the page with your cursor. • Find the up arrow on the screen and toggle up to End Show. That will stop the show where you are at that point. Or press ESC Key at top left hand corner of keyboard. • You will want to go to that arrow and explore the other options it gives you, Some fun stuff!
