Wanda Hill

Interim Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, Sierra Nevada College, Valdosta State University, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Clemson University

Over the course of her career, Wanda Hill has emerged as a leader in financial services for higher education. Ms. Hill currently serves as Interim Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada, where she allocates and manages a $20 million budget in addition to handling financial planning, risk management, and insurance. Wanda Hill accepted the position in January 2011, after serving as Vice President for Administration and Treasurer at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, from 1999 to 2010. During her time with Washburn University, Wanda Hill oversaw all university financial operations. She also participated as a member of the Washburn University Foundation Finance Committee and Investment Committee as well as the Strategic Planning Council. As a member of the Council, she participated in the creation of a new strategic plan that served as the basis for the university’s upcoming capital campaign. In addition, Ms. Hill served as a chair or member of a number of project building and program committees that added more than 165,000 square feet of facilities to the campus under her tenure. She also put together and annually reviewed and updated a five-year capital improvement plan for the university, detailing past and current improvement projects, as well as suggestions for future undertakings. Wanda Hill came to Washburn University with more than a decade of experience in financial planning and management in the higher education setting. She worked with California State University, Dominguez Hills; Clemson University; and The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, all in various executive-level positions. Ms. Hill has also taught at the university level as an Instructor of accounting with the Valdosta State University (VSU) Department of Accounting and Finance in Valdosta, Georgia. Wanda Hill received her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration from VSU as well, serving as a graduate research assistant while she earned her M.B.A.
