Things that stop us connecting with others • Physical environment – rural transport, urban crime • Money for activities or travel • Housing that is far from loved ones • Health – long term health and temporary health changes • Technology - changes to the way others communicate • Change – life-stage, activities or friendships and family • www.campaigntoendloneliness.org.uk

  4. When we’re unhappy with our connections … • We are lonely • We may have been feeling isolated (and are not happy with our solitude) • We are at risk of making our physical and mental health poorer • www.campaigntoendloneliness.org.uk

  7. What is missing? • Identifying those who are lonely or are at risk of loneliness • Involving older people in decisions that affect them • Local health commissioning • Preventing loneliness at times of life-change • Government policies • www.campaigntoendloneliness.org.uk
