  2. Title VI and Title VIII Compliance This meeting is being held to afford all citizens the right to understand the project and comment on concerns to the Florida Department of Transportation. The meeting is being held to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, And Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Aesthetics • The aesthetic treatments requested by the City of New Smyrna Beach include: • Decorative mast arms • Decorative sidewalks • Streetscaping • Design & construction of the aesthetic features are subject to FDOT District 5 approval • The design of the aesthetic features has been funded by the City of New Smyrna Beach • Funding for construction of these improvements is currently being sought • Concepts for these aesthetic features will be presented this evening

  10. New light pole banners, "Welcome! Canal Street Historic District", to be installed along West Canal Street as well as East Canal Street and S. Orange Street. • New design to be installed on current "wall sign" on side of building on the northeast corner of Canal St. and U.S. 1. Currently in design phase which incorporates the wave, same as with the gateways, with the palms and other consistent artistic elements from the LOOP and the CSHD.

  11. Dunn Lumber Site • Funding of West Canal Park (fka Dunn Lumber site) will come from the sale of City property for FDOT right-of-way.. • Requesting West Canal Park designer to incorporate more permanent LOOP banner as part of overall park design. NOTE: The current LOOP roadside banners are in a mobile/temporary frame.
