  3. Why are we doing this? • To raise needed funds for the parish • To support diocesan level ministries • To build stewardship experience • To support wider church ministries • To build stronger parishes

  4. Diocesan Case/Needs

  5. The Case for Support What’s the money for? Where’s the money going? 74% 10% 16%

  6. St. Richard’s Case/Needs Life Beyond Youth Worship Property Outreach Youth Minister Changes to Sanctuary CCC Coordinator Consultant Hands free worship Materials/ honoraria Mentoring Program Renovate kitchen

  7. Sharing Formula 7 Up to parish goal: $298 K Above parish goal 50% ($149 K) 100% 50% ($149 K) • Our total campaign goal: $298,000 • $149 K to support ministries in the diocese & beyond • $149 K to support St. Richard’s

  8. What if… • Our total campaign goal: $298,000 • If 200 parish families give $25 per month above their regular offering • That’s $300 each per year • Or $1,500 each over 5 years • And that gives us $300,000 over 5 years • Bonus: the parish can tap into the Diocesan case for additional funds

  9. Efforts To Date • GIFT Committee • Working with Martha Asselin • Case & parish lists prepared & submitted for printing • Weekly bulletin inserts • To share information • Provide updates on donations • Ambassador Training Workshop • Guest speakers throughout campaign • Periodic Committee updates

  10. Phase I • Date: Ambassador training • Sept 23: Ambassador visits begin (6 weeks) • Visit 3 - 4 fellow parishioners – strong supporters • Explain why we’re undertaking a campaign • Answer questions about the projects in our Case • Share any parishioner needs with the wardens/pastor • Ask parishioners to review the Gift Guideline • Will not ask parishioners for money or pledge • Follow up phone call/discussions, if needed • Generate momentum & pledges for launch

  11. Phase II • September 23: Launch • Ambassador visits continue until all parishioners have been visited • Visitees from Phase I potential ambassadors for Phase II • October 7: Bishop Peter Coffin • Bishop Ordinary initiative • November 25: campaign ends

  12. Process • Ambassadors present the parish case and donation guidelines but leave the decision to give and the amount to give to the parishioner • Individual and private decision to be made by donors after prayerful consideration • Remember…five-year timeline • Parishioners complete & mail personalized pledge card to the diocesan GIFT stewardship office -anonymous • As donations are made, St. Richard’s share will be forwarded to us monthly by the campaign office

  13. Fundraising Fundraising may be the most resisted of all functions of church leadershipand the most dreadedresponsibility of church leaders, clergy and laity alike. We are fashioned in the image of the Giver of life, and nothing proves this more dramatically and repeatedly than the glow of fulfillment that accompanies every act of generosity. Bishop Bennett Sims Bishop Emeritus, Diocese of Atlanta

  14. Thank You Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration and active participation in this campaign. …for the measure you give will be the measure you get back. Luke 6.38
