An entire department is now dedicated to providing updated statistical data relative to all areas of Deming Public Schools.   13. EXIT Salary & Benefits Salary Schedule Deming Public Schools is proud to be able to provide competitive salaries for teachers. The base pay for a Level I teacher at Deming Public Schools for the year of 2012-2013 was $31,426. The base pay for a Level II teacher at Deming Public Schools for the year of 2012-2013 was $40,800. The base pay for Level III teacher at Deming Public Schools for the year of 2012-2013 was $51,000. Please refer to the link at the right for the Salary Schedules. EXIT Tuition Reimbursement Deming Public Schools is proud to announce we are continuing to work in cooperation with universities in the area or any university of choice to pay the tuition for 6 credit hours per semester for any employee in the school district wishing to work towards two years of continuing education , an Associates Degree, four-year Degree, four-year Degree plus 45 hours, Masters Degree, Masters Degree plus or any other education requested by the school district. The District agrees to pay 80% of the tuition and required fees, with the applicant paying 20% upon registration. The allowable cost is based on WNMU tuition and fees. The program will pay up to 6 credit hours per semester. Classroom textbooks, up to $85.00 per class will be paid upon presentation of receipt. All coursework must lead toward a degree, endorsement or assist the district in meeting student needs. We are very fortunate to have the added convenience of the Mimbres Valley Learning Center being located within our community. At Mimbres Valley Learning Center, students are able to take courses through WNMU or Dona Ana Branch Community College. WNMU is now offering on-line registration. You may choose to participate with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NM or you may choose to participate with Presbyterian. Both companies offer a High Option Plan and and Low Option Plan.   19. EXIT Vision • Deming Public Schools offers vision coverage through the NM Public Schools Insurance Authority. The company that provides the coverage is Davis Vision. If you elect to purchase the coverage, the benefits are as follows: • Every 12 months you and your eligible dependents are entitled to a routine eye examination, including dilation as professionally indicated, and spectacle lenses or contact lenses. • Every 24 months you and your eligible dependents are entitled to a new frame. • Please visit Davis Vision for more information.   20. EXIT Prescription Drug Deming Public Schools provides prescription drug coverage through NM Public Schools Insurance Authority. The company that provides the coverage is Medco. If you elect to purchase this coverage you can receive a 30 day supply at any participating pharmacy or you may choose to receive up to a 90 day supply through a mail order pharmacy. EXIT Staff Development The Mentor Induction Program represents a significant commitment by the Deming Public Schools, Western New Mexico University, the NM Public Education Department, and the Commission on Higher Education to improve the success of beginning teachers. That is a collaborative effort in and of itself is a positive sign of the degree of trust and professionalism that is in place: all of the participants, association leaders, district administrators, building administrators, support mentors, experience teachers, and especially new teachers have gained from the Induction Program.   27. EXIT EXIT Technology Staff Development Deming Public Schools commitment to technology is ongoing. We are proud to have an entire department dedicated to provided technology services throughout the school district. They service the computers in the district and provide technical assistance to all employees, including teachers and students. Deming Public Schools commitment to technology does not end here. Not only are computer labs located at each school site. We provide technology education to the students through courses offered at all of the secondary schools. Students at an elementary level are introduced to technology at a young age, through computers in the classrooms. Credit Union Back to Main Menu

  28. EXIT Credit Union Staff Development Deming Public Schools employees are eligible to join the Deming School Employees Credit Union. The Credit Union provides members the opportunity to invest a portion of their pay into a savings account or they may wish to apply for a loan through the Credit Union.
