  1. About Deer Hunting Clubs In The South The popularity of being a member of a hunting club in the South, in states such as Alabama, for example, cannot be doubted. Alabama, and surrounding states, are well known for their abundant wildlife such as white-tailed deer and numerous species for the wing-shooter. Because Alabama and other states offer great facilities, and because they are known for offering hunters good opportunities, the region is popular with hunters from within the region, but also with hunters from elsewhere. The moment you start thinking about that exciting trip, the question always comes up: how do I find the ideal situation that will allow me maximum opportunity? For many the answer is to join a deer hunting club that will offer them all of those benefits to help them enjoy their outing. To form – or join an existing – hunting club in Alabama and neighboring states, has great benefits which are often denied the independent hunter. Clubs are often constructed to offer hunters the opportunity to hunt large acreages, which the single hunter may simply find too expensive on their own. This is the ideal for the person that does not own land: you can hunt according to the provisions of your lease, without the responsibility of ownership for example. Well-managed clubs are always run with controlled access, and members understand that all of those in the club share certain feelings of belonging – all for the greater good of the rest of the members. They hunt with self-imposed regulations, in addition to those imposed by the landowner and/or his representative, such as, for example, a lease manager. Depending on the cohesion of the group and their expectations of one another, many clubs help to improve stands, they help plant food plots, they help contribute to the other members’, and therefore their own, experience. Camaraderie among members cannot be taken lightly: a group’s input to serve other members’ interests goes a long way towards cementing a bond and friendship. This is not possible if you are not a member of a well-run hunting club. And, of course, everybody shares expenses, right from paying for the lease to acquiring, say, any materials that may be needed to enhance the experience. The club enhances feelings of belonging, of safety within the group and lasting friendships – especially if the club is well managed and the same lease acquired year after year. Well-run hunting clubs are well organized; they are run according to rules and regulations and certain bylaws that may apply to the club, so that everybody in the club is treated with respect, fairly and efficiently. https://westerveltwildlife.com/ In order to give the club the best chance at being successful, it is a great idea to draw up a constitution that outlines all of the important expectations and responsibilities. This helps to ensure that every member understands their responsibilities so that all may enjoy the benefits. Of course, it also helps new members to form an idea of what type of club they are joining. A constitution should spell out the formal provisions. For example: you will choose a name for the club, all of the objectives, responsibilities of individuals and those of the group as a whole, you will arrange meetings where that applies, either physically or online, you will discuss finances and dues, any amendments and all of those issues that may contribute to the ongoing success of the club. In states such as Alabama the best leases are often acquired by clubs that are managed by a third party, a company or service that manages hunting clubs for owners of land. Everybody benefits: the members are given a platform from where they are able to enjoy the benefits of membership, whereas the landowner or his agent offers leases to the public – often by allowing individuals to join one of their deer hunting clubs in the region. It is a win-win: hunters are offered well-controlled leases, whereas owners are ensured their property is in good hands, i.e. their agent or lease manager.
