  1. Looking At Hunting Land And Looking At Hunting Land And Leases In The Southeast Leases In The Southeast Even though hunting is not an American prerogative, it certainly has been a passion for millions of hunters throughout various states over the years. Hunters normally have preferences, which will impact their choice of the region they visit to hunt, as few hunters have their own land where they can enjoy their pastime. Of course there are different species to be hunted, and the whitetail deer hunter, for example, may favor one of the southeastern states such as, say, Georgia, Alabama or Virginia. These states have always been known to be popular destinations for hunters from within the region, but certainly with hunters from much further out as well – also from overseas destinations. Deer hunters, much like the wing-shooter, will certainly want to know they visit a region, or a lodge, where they are offered great opportunities to leave with quality buck, or doe where and when that is allowed. Great hunting is never guaranteed since free range animal populations roam and are known to trek to areas where they find the best habitat, an area with enough good water and food sources, good shelter and a habitat suited to their nature. This means no landowner is guaranteed to constantly offer hunting land and leases to visiting hunters with a promise that they are ensured of a successful trip. However, there is a lot that landowners can do to improve and maintain conditions conducive to raising and keeping quality buck on their land. It makes sense that deer will not leave their habitat if they are guaranteed constant good food, water, shelter and a habitat in which to raise their young. Therefore, the landowners that manage their lands well are more likely to be able to offer hunters the deer and other prey they pay money for when they arrive to hunt. Management involves knowledge of the land, of animal movement and all of those processes that require good research to ensure animals are available for the hunters – in good condition. This applies everywhere in the US, and for that matter everywhere in the world where hunters are looking for hunting land. Good leases, therefore, depend on various factors such as the land where you will hunt, and how it is managed to ensure quality buck, with plans in place to ensure that you have choices when you set out. For example, on land where there is limited forage, chances are that hunters will not be offered good quality and great hunting experiences. The same applies to other natural features such as water, shelter and the typography where animals – whitetail deer, for example – thrive. Finding such land requires some research on behalf of the hunter and their party. You may be someone that reads up about hunting leases all the time, or you may talk to other hunters and consider their opinions. Or you may consult

  2. the internet and look for good leases on websites. All of these have merit and may indeed lead you to that specific lease that meets your requirements and promises you the best time. It is, however, always advisable to take some time over your decision. Establish what the credentials are of the landowner, what hunters feel in terms of what they are offered. This you can do by gathering information about the region you favor, the tracts of land available for hunting, the feedback from other hunters. Very often great leases are offered by owners that are known to manage their properties well, that are known to offer leases with certain reasonable limitations attached to them, for instance a limit on the number of buck or doe you may hunt, their age and the like. It is true, too, that such leases are often managed by wildlife consultants to which such management services are outsourced: it is their task to concentrate on creating the best circumstances for deer and other animals to thrive in a certain habitat. These services are a great help for the hunter looking for a great lease. Consider contacting one of them. They advertise their services in the press and on the internet.
