This project aims to create and develop authentic e-learning materials for the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) program to be used in the classroom. The session will provide information and training on how to use electronic resources effectively.

Sharing Resources - Evaluating Material 10:50 Break 11:00 Group brainstorming - Developing a lesson plan 11:15 Working on our own materials 11:45 What happens next? - Taking to the learners.

Introduction The aim of this session is to: • learn or practice using electronic equipment in a classroom situation; • test out and give feedback on some simple exercises for the classroom; and • work as a group to develop material that can be shared in the classroom. • The purpose of this project is for MFL (and EFL) tutors to: • learn how to use IT in the class • learn how to develop eLearning material; • test it in the classroom; • find ways share information about electronic resources; and • explore and understand the role of new technology in the classroom.

Medway and CACL-2 Project The final bid “The purpose of this project is to create and develop authentic E-learning materials for our modern foreign languages (MFL) programme to be used in the classroom.” Our critical friend - Dorset Adult Education Service ”Introduce and train tutors in the MFL department to use data projectors and laptops as part of their teaching resource to develop their own teaching materials.”

Why E-Learning? • adapted to different learning styles • multi-sensorial • materials can be easily shared and re-used • materials can be updated (real, authentic) • motivating for students • ….. • ….. • Most effective when combined with traditional teaching methods. • and no dreaded queue for the photocopier!!!!
