  6. Voluntary Plan Decisions

  7. Dental • 9 carriers provided proposals and were evaluated on: plan design, strength of network, and price • Dental will move to MetLife for the 2020 plan year for better network access and lower premium • MetLife’s provider network participation is 25% greater than current • No ID cards will be issued

  10. New & Enhanced Voluntary Benefits • The district is enhancing it’s voluntary benefit offeringto include the following additional or enhanced plans through Cigna: • Critical Illness & Accident Bundle: pays a tax-free lump sum if you're diagnosed with a defined critical illness during the policy term AND pays for the medical and out-of-pocket costs that you may incur after an accidental injury. This includes emergency treatment, hospital stays, and medical exams, and other expenses you may face, such as transportation and lodging needs.  • Cancer coverage is included in bundle • Hospital Indemnity Plan: pays you benefits when you are confined to a hospital, whether for planned or unplanned reasons, or for other medical services, depending on the policy.

  11. Other Voluntary Benefits Whole Life (Permanent Life) • New Carrier: Chubb • Why are we moving? Texas Life is not setup to be enrolled online and requires paper forms. The district is moving to a benefit administration system and is only selecting carriers which can be enrolled online. • Enhanced benefit includes rider for Long Term Care benefit. • Current participants can elect the Chubb policy or continue their Texas Life policy outside of payroll deduction. All current coverages (MetLife Accident, Allstate Cancer, Texas Life) are portable, so you can keep your coverage and pay carriers directly.
