  6. The Procrastination Equation Motivation = Expectancy x Value Impulsiveness x Delay

  7. Overcoming Procrastination • Increase expectancy to succeed • Increase the value for immediate task • Decrease impulsiveness • Increase and sustain momentum • S.M.A.R.T. Goals • Create a support team…. Toastmasters!

Specific Suggestions • Make a commitment to improve • Replace the “P” word with “I get things done.” • Do as you go • Make your “to-do” list a “ta-da” list. • Be Prepared (pre plan) • “Kaizen” or incrementally improve. • Reinforce verbally, expect to succeed. • Find an accountability partner. • Use positive triggers. • Clear clutter from your surroundings and mind
