  2. What is a resolution? • A resolution is a promise that you make to yourself. Most people make resolutions at the beginning of a new year. There are different kinds of resolutions. • One type of resolution has to do only with oneself. You might decide to exercise more or to watch less TV. • Other resolutions might involve family or friends. You could make a resolution to be more patient with your little brother. • Some resolutions are about school such as going to school daily or not procrastinating.

Creating Your New Year’s Resolutions Directions: In your journal you will create six resolutions. • In the first section, create two personal goals. • In the second section, write two resolutions that involve your family and friends. • In the third section, write two resolutions for this school year. *An example can be found on the next slide.

  6. Reflection • In your journal write one paragraph about why your resolutions are important and how you will accomplish them.
