  1. Punctuality and Promptness FILIPINO TIME –A KNOWN VOCABULARY FOR FILIPINOS WHICH MEANS TO MAKE DELAY OR AN ACT OF TARDINESS. IT MEANS WHEN AN APPOINTMENT OR EVENT IS SET AT AN APPOINTED TIME, IT WILL ACTUALLY TAKE PLACE AT A MUCH LATER THAN THE APPOINTED TIME. IT IS OBSERVED IN MOST PLACES IN THE PHILIPPINES, SO MUCH THAT IT HAS BECOME ASSOCIATED AMONG OUR NATIONAL TRAITS, MUCH TO DISCREDIT OF OUR PEOPLE. PUNCTUALITY-The quality or state of being punctual; especially, adherence to the exact time of an engagement; exactness. PROMPTNESS-The state of being ready to act on time.

  2. 1. Punctuality in both Civilian and military life Schedule –One of the most important basis of time management which must be observed by every person to prevent tardiness EXAMPLE OF A SCHEDULE

Disadvantages of not being punctual • In students: • If the student is not punctual in attending his classes, he misses some of the instruction which may be important. • He disturbs the instruction by distracting the both attention of the instructor and his classmates. • In office workers: • Some workers are paid by the hours of work that they have done, so if the laborer or employee is not punctual, his salary will decrease.

In military man: • If a soldier or cadet is late for drill or ceremonies, he can disrupt or delay the whole group because his assignment may be important in the activity to be undertaken. • In combat, failure to arrive on time at a certain place could mean not only life or death to an individual but also disaster to the bigger unit.

  5. 2. Promptness in doing our jobs Filipinos are rather well known for their laziness and habit of postponing work that needs to be done immediately “BAHALA NA HABIT”- one of the habits of the Filipino which does not contribute at all to both individual and national progress.

OBEDIENCE OBEDIENCE- MAY BE DEFINED AS THE SUBMISSION TO AUTHORITY OR WILLINGNESS TO OBEY - IT IS A RULE OF CONDUCT IS ESSENTIAL IN THE LIFE AND ACTIVITIES OF ANY GROUP, FAMILY COMMUNITY, SOCIETY, GOVERNMENT OR MILITARY ORGANIZATION - LACK OF IT WILL NOT PREJUDICE THE INTEREST OF THE INDIVIDUAL BUT ALSO THE WELFARE AND THE OBJECTIVES OF THE GROUP TO WHICH HE BELONGS.

  7. 1. Obedience to rules and regulations. Rules- An authoritative, prescribed direction for conduct, especially one of the regulations governing procedure in a legislative body or a regulation observed by the players in a game, sport, or contest.

  8. 2. Observance to Christian Morals Morality-Morality refers to ethical issues — principles of right and wrong conduct — as well as instances of real behaviour — the manner in which individuals comply more or less fully with such standards.

  9. 3. Conforming for social etiquette Etiquette-The practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority.

  10. 4. Attitude towards reasonable punishment Punishment- A penalty imposed for wrongdoing:

  11. 5. Attitude towards to the officers of the law Authority-The power to enforce laws, exact obedience, command, determine, or judge.

  12. 6. Submission to just and Reasonable Authorities • Responsibility-The state, quality, or fact of being responsible. Something for which one is responsible; a duty, obligation, or burden.
