2. Food Premises • ensure registrations are up to date/any new ventures are registered • Keep us informed of any new activities • All businesses need to be fully compliant with allergen requirements (advice available) • All businesses must display their correct ratings (Food Hygiene). These will be monitored (fixed penalties may be issued) • if businesses require a re-rating inspection apply as early as possible (due to expected increase in demands on the service at this time)

3. Entertainments Licence • Can I apply for a Public Entertainments Licence and how much does it cost? • Yes. We will provide a Public Entertainments Licence to any type of suitable premises and currently we have licenced bars, cafes, church halls, public houses, hotels. • We have provided Information on our Council website at the following address • https://www.causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk/live/health-and-built-environment/licensing/entertainment • This includes details on the cost of a licence which is set by law and varies by premises type or numbers that the place can hold

4. Entertainment Licence • What type of Public Entertainments Licence can I apply for? • You can apply for an annual licence or an occasional Licence. An Occasional Entertainment Licence allows you to hold Entertainment on 14 occasions in one year and is approximately half the price of an annual licence. May be attractive if you are thinking of providing Entertainment whilst the Golf event is occurring

Entertainment Licence What additional information must I provide to get a Public Entertainments Licence? • You need to publically advertise your application in at least 1 local newspaper and in addition to your application provide us with the following: • Three copies of plans of the building, where required • A Fire Risk Assessment complying with the Fire and Rescue Services (NI) Order 2006 and associated regulations • Certification of testing/provision of firefighting equipment • Certification of installation/testing fire alarm systems • Certification of installation/testing of emergency lighting systems • An Electrical Installation condition report • Certification showing that there is in force a policy of public liability insurance

6. Entertainment Licence • What will Council Do? • We will consult with the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and PSNI. We will inspect the area you wish to license to ensure it is suitable. • How long will it take? • The Statutory Public consultation exercise is for 28 days so it will take us approximately 6-8 weeks to process a licence although this period may be slightly longer if we get a public objection or you do not submit all the documentation to allow us to deal with your application

7. Entertainment Licence • Can I apply for additional hours on my Existing Entertainments Licence? • Yes. An application for a variation of your existing Entertainments Licence needs to be made to the Licensing section. A notice also needs placed in a local newspaper as for the Grant or Renewal of Licence. Council will consult with the Statutory Consultees PSNI and NIFRS. • How long will this take? • Again because of the public consultation period of 28 days we would endeavour to Grant a licence within 6-8 weeks of Application however it may take longer if we receive an objection or you do not provide all the information to allow us to process an application

8. Entertainment Licence • How much does it cost to extend my licence? • £80 fee to Council however you will also need to publically advertise • Can I extend my Liquor Licencing Hours? • Liquor Licensing is dealt with by the Court Service to which Council and PSNI are statutory consultees. It is best advice to consult a legal professional to help with this application process • The possession of an Entertainments Licence for a premises or a particular part of a premises will allow you to apply to the court for an extension of the permitted hours for which you may serve alcohol

9. Entertainment Licence • Can my Entertainments Licence run longer than my alcohol licence? • Yes. If you make an application and Council approve it then your Entertainments Licence need not expire at the same time as your Liquor Licence • Is there a deadline for Applications for a Public Entertainments Licence for the Golf Event? • Given the statutory process of 28 days public consultation it would be legally impossible to process applications received after 7th June and if there is an objection it could not be processed and issued to you in time. Premises owners are advised to apply now as this also gives you time to consider amending your liquor licence if you wish

10. Pavement Cafes • I run a licensed premises. Can I apply for a pavement café to place tables and chairs outside my premises to serve alcohol? • Yes. An application must be made to the Councils licensing section however planning permission may be required before a licence can be sought. A pavement café licence will extend the permissible area of your premises where alcohol may be consumed and permit the consumption of alcohol in that part of the street. It is advised to Contact Councils Planning Service initially to determine if planning permission for your proposal is required.
