  2. Hi! I’m Mrs. Haneline. This is my twentieth year of teaching. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I LOVE 1st grade! Please celebrate good days and discuss days that need improvement. Students are working to earn 70 stars to go to the Positive Behavior Party in December and May. Your support at home makes a big difference!   10. In first grade we have a reading program called the 100 Book Club. The purpose is to reward and encourage reading at home and to reward that effort at the end of the school year. The deadline to join will be in April. To join you may read to your child or have your child read to you and then write down the title of that book on a reading log that I will provide.   11. First Grade ice cream day is on Friday. Students can purchase ice cream in the cafeteria on Fridays for 50 cents. Students can bring a snack from home each day.   12. First GradeBinder This binder must be brought back and forth to school everyday. In this binder you will find the planner, folder, reading log pocket, newsletter pocket and money pouch. Please initial the planner empty the folder each evening. The pouch is a safe place to put money (lunch money, field trips, etc.) or permission forms.   13. Your child will receive a report card after each nine weeks. Please be sure to sign and return the report card to school. Thank you! I will send home a weekly newsletter on Fridays. It will include upcoming word lists, information about what we will be learning for the upcoming week, homework, test and project information, and other classroom news.
