The Process • READ THROUGH THE INFORMATION • DECIDE IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT YOUR GROUP WOULD BE INTERESTED IN • CONTACT YOUR GROUP MEMBERS TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF INTEREST • CONTACT PROGRAM COORDINATOR, ARRANGE FOR A MEETING • COMPILE A LIST OF MEMBERS WILLING TO VOLUNTEER • BOOK TRAINING DATE(S) • CHOOSE YOUR PREFERRED GAME DATES PLUS FIVE ALTERNATE DATES THAT YOUR GROUP WOULD LIKE TO WORK • ARRANGE FOR WCB COVERAGE • ARRANGE FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE • SIGN THE CONTRACT YOU’RE READY TO GO!!

  3. GENERAL INFORMATION PARKING WE WILL REIMBURSE FOR PARKINGEXPENSES ON A RATIO OF ONE REIMBURESMENT FOR EVERY FOUR WORKERS. BECAUSE OF LIMITED PARKING AVAILABILTY, WE RECOMMEND THAT GROUPS PARK IN THE CALGARY STAMPEDE LOTS AND BRING THEIR PARKING STUBS IN TO THE VOLUNTEER TABLE TO BE REIMBURSED. BREAK ROOM A BREAK ROOM IS PROVIDED FOR ALL STAFF AS WELL AS GROUP VOLUNTEERS. THE HOURS OF OPERATION ARE THREE HOURS PRE EVENT THROUGH TO THE THIRD PERIOD OF HOCKEY GAMES. VOLUNTEER LOCKERS THERE ARE LOCKERS PROVIDED EXPRESSLY FOR THE USE OF THE VOLUNTEER GROUP MEMBERS. THE CALGARY FLAMES DO NOT PROVIDE LOCKS AND ASK THAT ANYONE USING THE VOLUNTEER LOCKERS BRING THEIR OWN LOCK. PURSES AND COATS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE CONCESSION STANDS. THE UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION CENTRE IS OPEN AS A COAT CHECK DURING EVENTS, EXPECT LINE UPS. SHIFT LENGTHS REGULAR CONCESSION SHIFTS START 1 ½ - 2 HOURS PRIOR TO THE EVENT START TIME. GROUP LEADERS ARE REQUIRED TO START 2 ½ HOURS PRIOR TO THE EVENT. SHIFTS ARE APPROXIMATELY 5 ½ - 6 HOURS IN DURATION. UNIFORM • GROUP MEMBERS MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN DARK PANTS AND WHITE SHIRT. GOLF SHIRTS, AND WRINKLE FREE T-SHIRTS ARE ACCEPTABLE. • DARK BLUE, OR BLACK DRESS PANTS OF A NON-DENIM MATERIAL ARE REQUIRED. • RUBBER SOLED SHOES ARE RECOMMENDED. • A VOLUNTEER APRON AND VOLUNTEER IDENTIFICATION WILL BE PROVIDED. IF YOU ARRIVE AND DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER UNIFORM YOU WILL BE SENT TO THE UNIFORM DEPARTMENT TO BORROW A REPLACEMENT. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FIND A REPLACEMENT UNIFORM OR YOU CHOOSE TO LEAVE, THE GROUP WILL BE PENALIZED FOR BEING SHORT STAFFED

FLEXIBLE OPTIONS AVAILABLE Each group is required to work a minimum of 120 Flames shifts This can be broken into flexible groupings: Groups are paid $50.00 per person per shift For a guaranteed minimum of $6000.00 per Contract term. PLUS A BONUS OF $420.00 UPON COMPLETION OF REQUIRED SHIFTS PAID OUT AT THE END OF THE HOCKEY SEASON

  5. THE DETAILS • EACH GROUP MAY CHOOSE TO WORK TOGETHER OR AS INDIVIDUALS. • TOGETHER, A GROUP IS ELIGIBLE TO WORK FOR A PERCENTAGE OF STAND SALES (RANGING FROM 9-12%). FOR EACH GROUP OF FIVE, FOUR ARE CASHIERS AND ONE ACTS AS A GROUP LEADER. THERE IS A GUARANTEED MINIMUM OF $250.00 PER EACH GROUP OF FIVE. • EACH GROUP SHOULD TRAIN FIVE GROUP LEADERS IF THE PERCENTAGE OPTION IS CHOSEN. • AS INDIVIDUALS THE GROUP IS SPLIT INTO SMALLER GROUPS OF TWO OR THREE AND WORK ALONGSIDE THE PAID STAFF IN A VARIETY OF CONCESSION STANDS. • ONCE A GROUP HAS SIGNED A CONTRACT AND HAS PICKED A FLEX OPTION AND GAME DATES THE GROUP MAY CHOOSE TO WORK OTHER EVENTS. • GROUPS IN GOOD STANDING ARE ENTITLED TO SIGN UP FOR EXTRA EVENTS SUCH AS CONCERTS AND RODEOS. • EVENT CALENDARS ARE SENT OUT AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH MONTH, ALL EXTRA EVENTS AND GROUP REQUIREMENTS ARE LISTED ON THESE CALENDARS. • THE CONTRACT TERM STARTS IN SEPTEMBER AND TERMINATES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT HOCKEY SEASON

  6. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS INSURANCE EACH GROUP MUST OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE WITH A MINIMUM 1,000,000 COMMERCIAL LIABILITY. WCB YOU MUST HAVE WCB COVERAGE FOR YOUR GROUP OR ARRANGE FOR YOUR ASSOCIATION’S COVERAGE TO EXTEND TO YOUR GROUP. FAX A COPY OF THE INVOICE TO 571-9760 AND WE WILL PROCESS A REIMBURSEMENT FOR ALL WCB PREMIUMS.

TRAINING TRAINING CONSISTS OF ONE 4 1/2 HOUR SESSION TRAINING COVERS: RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SERVICE • SERVING ALCOHOL RESPONSIBLY • CALGARY FLAMES POLICIES REGARDING THE SALE OF ALCOHOL • RECOGNIZING THE SIGNS OF INTOXICATION AND HOW TO REACT • IDENTIFYING MINORS • WHAT ACTIONS TO TAKE AND WHEN TO TAKE THEM ON SITE TILL TRAINING • INTRODUCTION TO QUEST POINT OF SALE SYSTEM • HANDS ON TRAINING OVER VIEW OF PROGRAM • UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS • WORK STANDARDS • CUSTOMER SERVICE • REMUNERATION TOUR OF BUILDING • TOUR OF ALL WORK RELATED AREAS TRAINING DATES ARE PUBLISHED IN THE EVENT CALENDAR SENT OUT EACH MONTH. OTHER TRAINING TIMES ARE MADE AVAILABLE IF THE EVENT SCHEDULE ALLOWS. (MINIMUM OF 15 PEOPLE PER SESSION)

FRIDAY DECEMBER 21 VS DALLAS 8:00 PM SUNDAY DECEMBER 23 VS NEW JERSEY 6:00 PM SATURDAY DECEMBER 29 VS ANAHEIM 8:00 PM MONDAY DECEMBER 31 VS VANCOUVER 7:00 PM WEDNESDAY JANUARY 2 VS NY RANGERS 7:00 PM PLAY OFF GAMES ARE ALSO MANDATORY EACH GROUP MUST WORK ONE GAME FROM THE MANDATORY GAME BLOCK AND ONE GAME DURING THE PLAYOFFS.
