Drugs. Are BAD!!!. marijuana. What is it- Marijuana has a chemical in it called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, better known as THC. A lot of other chemicals are found in marijuana, about 400 of them, many of the can affect on your health.

  1. Drugs Are BAD!!!

  2. marijuana • What is it- Marijuana has a chemical in it called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, better known as THC. A lot of other chemicals are found in marijuana, about 400 of them, many of the can affect on your health. • Street names- pot, grass, herb, weed, Mary Jane, reefer, skunk, boom, gangster, kif, chronic, and ganja. • How Is It Used- its used in many different ways, some smoke it in a joint or blunt. Some brew it like a tea or add it into food, or smoke out of a bong or bowl. • Most common Effects-problems with memory and learning, distorted perception, difficulty thinking and solving problems, impaired coordination, increased heart rate.

  3. ecstasy • What is it- Ecstasy is a slang term for an illegal drug that has effects similar to those of hallucinogens and stimulants. Ecstasy's scientific name is "MDMA," short for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine. • Street Names- ecstasy, E, XTC, X, Adam, hug, beans, clarity, lover's speed, and love drug. • How its used- its taken as a pill, tablet, capsule and swallowed, or crushed up and snorted. • Side effects- Nausea, Hallucinations, Chills & sweating, Increased body temp, Tremors, Muscle cramping, Blurred vision

  4. Cocaine • What it is- A powerfully addictive drug that is snorted, sniffed, injected, or smoked. Crack is cocaine that has been processed from cocaine hydrochloride to a free base for smoking. • Street names-Coke, snow, flake, blow. • How its used- • Side effects- A powerfully addictive drug, cocaine usually makes the user feel euphoric and energetic. Common health effects include heart attacks, respiratory failure, strokes, and seizures. Large amounts can cause bizarre and violent behavior. In rare cases, sudden death can occur on the first use of cocaine or unexpectedly thereafter

Heroin • What it is- An addictive drug that is processed from morphine and usually appears as a white or brown powder • Street name- Smack, H, ska, junk • How its used- injected, sniffed/snorted, or smoked • Side Effects- Short-term effects include a surge of euphoria followed by alternately wakeful and drowsy states and cloudy mental functioning. Associated with fatal overdose and- particularly in users who inject the drug-infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis

  6. Inhalants • What it is- Breathable chemical vapors that users intentionally inhale because of the chemicals' mind-altering effects. The substances inhaled are often common household products that contain volatile solvents or aerosols. • Street names- Whippets, poppers, snappers. • How its used-“Sniffing” or 'snorting' fumes from containers. Spraying aerosols directly into the nose or mouth. “Bagging” –- sniffing or inhaling fumes from substances sprayed or deposited inside a plastic or paper bag. “Huffing” from an inhalant-soaked rag stuffed in the mouth; and Inhaling from balloons filled with nitrous oxide • Side effects- Most inhalants produce a rapid high that resembles alcohol intoxication. If sufficient amounts are inhaled, nearly all solvents and gases produce a loss of sensation, and even unconsciousness.

  7. Reflection This class was the funniest one I took so far. We got to do our work on the computer which made it even better. The teacher was very explanatory with the work content. She helped us when we needed it. And she made the work fun to do. I enjoyed this class very much. And if I didn’t pass I would love to take it again with her.
