  3. “What is Spam (food)? • Entry from Wikipedia • Wide range of topics • For people who want information • Differs from “Rattled” and “Democracy” • Similar to writing done in school • Can you think of another meaning for “spam”? • Why might people want to know about this topic? • What would people want to know about this topic?

Features of a Good Informative Essay • Topic is interesting • Subtopics are interesting • Interesting details • Presents good information • Logical organization • Good lead • Has a good ending • Makes you think • Clear subtopics • May define an idea • May focus on a small topic of everyday life • May be organized around questions
