How will I benefit from Tech Prep Credits? • Register early at local community/technical college • Credits may be applied towards a degree or certificate • Many four year colleges and universities are willing to accept transfer of most Tech Prep College Credits • Military = promotion and pay raise for enlistees with college credit • Students with college credit stand out to future employers • Save time and $$

  9. Lets get started: Step 1: Student WEB Registration Go to www.netechprep.org • Click on “To Apply” • Click on “New Student” if you have never registered for Tech Prep. • Click on “Continuing Students” if you have registered for other Tech Prep classes. You will need your Tech Prep ID number or ask your Career Specialist or teacher to help you find it.

  10. Step 2 : Registration • At the Tech Prep/Dual Credit Registration Program Page enter all student information carefully. • Click “NEXT” There are 4 pages you need to complete. DO NOT use the back arrow.

  11. Step 3: Complete IMPORTANT Student Information • Full name and complete mailing address. * It is important to get correct information so that your college transcript can be mailed to you. • Home high school = where you regularly attend school.

  12. Step 4: Choose articulated classes What is an articulated class? It sounds complicated, but it’s really not. It’s simply a high school class that matches curriculum with a college class.

  13. Choosing articulated classes: (Step 4 continued) • At the drop down menu, select one or more of the classes listed that you are currently enrolled in. • Make sure you choose: • High School where Tech Prep class is taught. • Course (s) you are in now. • Teacher (s) you have now. • College where you want to receive credit.

  14. Step 5: Print the Registration form • Print two copies of your two-page registration form. Important - be sure both pages are yours! • Keep one for your records. You will need your ID for future Tech Prep registration. • Before the due date, attach a check for $25.00 (payable to NETPC) to your registration form. Mail to the NETPC Office or give it to your teacher or career specialist in the pre-addressed Tech Prep envelope.

  15. What happens next ? At the end of August, a transcript will be mailed to your home from the college that awarded you the credit. To order an official transcript you will need to contact the college where you earned the credit.

  16. Remember… Due dates are important! • You cannot register for credit after you have completed the high school class. • Registration Forms and $25 (check or charge) must be mailed to the Tech Prep Office by the registration deadline. • Due Dates for both semesters are available online at: www.netechprep.org or check with your teacher. • Your career center is available to guide you through this process!
