  2. Start early – these things take lots of time

  3. Make a process … and then follow it

  4. Make a list of what you need to do…and then do it

  5. Have a good attitude

  6. Make new friends, but keep the old….

  7. Play fair, listen, and be flexible.

  8. Go on field trips and play “Show and tell”

  9. Read the license conditions, settlement agreement, and implementation plans! Read the license conditions, settlement agreement, implementation plans!

  10. Expect the unexpected!

  11. Contractors attempt to install an inflatable coffer dam. … without much success.

  12. Current was moving the inflatable dam . . .

In conclusion: • Start early – expect lots of effort • Make and follow a process and schedule • Have a good attitude • Keep relicensing staff to implement • Play fair and be flexible • Play show and tell – help agencies learn about your project • Read the license, settlement agreement, management plans • Expect the unexpected and be flexible • Costs will escalate • and last but not least….
