Organisation- The Public Employment Service AMS is structured into 1 federal, 9 regional and 100 local organisations - Representatives of employers’ and labour organisations are involved at all levels and are instrumental in designing labour market policies (employment programmes of the federal provinces) - The body acting at the federal level is the administrative board

Financial supportforcompanies • People withdisablitiesareassistedby Public Employment Support counsellorswithspecialknow-how in rehabilitation • Integration Subsidy • - Integration Subsidiesareusedbythepublicemploymentserviceto • supportplacementactivitiesandthe (re)integrationofdisadvantagedgroups- The employer will receivefinancialsupport in the form of wage subsidies (periodicpayments)- Upto 66,7% oftheassessmentbasis (monthlygrosspayexcludingspecialbonuspayments, plus a lump sumof 50% for non-wage labourcosts) issubsidised- During a probationaryperiodof non morethan 6 monthsthesesubsidiesmaycover 100%

  6. Financial supportforPwD • Working experienceplacements • Working opportunity for job seeking persons to identify their job preferences, strengths, weaknesses, and support needs. Work experience placements are unpaid and can be for any amount of hours per week. A work experience placement should be time-limited to avoid exploitation of the job seeker and EUSE would recommend that 8 -12 weeks is a sufficient time period to meet the objectives of the placement. Also referred to as internship. • 2- 4 weeks free probation time in companies • Up to 3 months free training time in companies

Tasks of the Federal Social Services Office • The Federal Social Services Office is a service organisation that focuses on the integration and re-integration of people with disabilities. • Apart from people with disabilities, this also includes enterprises that employ or want to employ people with disabilities.

  8. Vocational integration • Projects focusing on the advice, training and employment (transitional job support) for people with disabilities; and awareness-raising projects with regard to the problems of people with disabilities.

  9. Vocationalintegration • Projects are funded • Support to obtain and secure of jobs • Benefits for integration measures • Benefits for the 'secure earnings scheme' • Benefits for the 'secure jobs scheme' • Disability-friendly adaptation of jobs

  10. Legal basics Employment of People with Disabilities ActCENTRAL GOALS: • Obligation to employ people with disabilities (for enterprises with 25 or more employees); ORpayment of a compensation tax into a fund. • Increased protection against dismissal for people with disabilities.

INTEGRATIVE VOCATIONAL TRAINING – IBA (incl. professional orientation and preparation) • Framework conditions - Contractingauthority: Public Employment • Supervision of IBA is incumbent on the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour (national level) - regulated in thevocationaltrainingactsince 2003 - targetgroup: youngpeoplebetweenage 15-25: * could not beplaced in a regularapprenticeship • * hadspecialeducationalneeds at compulsoryschooling * havedisabilities within the meaning of the act on Employment of People with Disabilities (as defined by law)

Parameters … • for PWD: • - during orientation+preparation: cover of living by the AMS (approx. 294 EUR)- during integrative vocationaltraining: 294 EUR (1-2 year), 679,50 EUR (3-4 year)- trainingcontractwith JAW- long-time practicaltraining in companies- healthandaccidentinsurance • for company/ business partner: • practical training contract with Jugend am Werk • expense: 1st year EUR 73, 2nd year: EUR 145, 3rd-4th year EUR 218 (per month)
