  1. L1 Tracking – Status Christian Steinle, Andreas Kugel, Reinhard Männer Computer Engineering, University of Mannheim • Contents • Motivation for different implementations • Status CBMROOT Implementation • Status FPGA Implementation • Status CELL Implementation • Status Documentation Christian Steinle, University of Mannheim, Institute of Computer Engineering

  2. Motivation for different implementations • Develop a L1-Trigger with applied Hough-Transform for CBM • Implement a C++ software model in CBMROOT • Simulation of software model is too slow for CBM experiment • Implement a FPGA hardware model in HDL • Synthesis requires more ressources than single chip has • Distribute via more chips • Expensive and quite complex solution is replaced by cheap rapid prototyping system Sony Playstation III with CELL BE • Simulate FPGA chip network by using each SPU as chip • Maybe CELL BE implementation is fast enough for CBM experiment Christian Steinle, University of Mannheim, Institute of Computer Engineering

  3. Status CBMROOT Implementation Christian Steinle, University of Mannheim, Institute of Computer Engineering

  4. Status FPGA Implementation Christian Steinle, University of Mannheim, Institute of Computer Engineering

  5. Status CELL Implementation Christian Steinle, University of Mannheim, Institute of Computer Engineering

  6. Status Documentation Christian Steinle, University of Mannheim, Institute of Computer Engineering
