Application • The water utility in Waupun was planning to take their conventional filter plant out of service. • A new membrane facility was going to be designed, built and put into service. • This new water treatment facility would require Chemical Feed for: Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Permanganate, Fluoride and a Scale Inhibitor.

  3. Opportunity • Worked with Applied Technologies, the consulting engineer, to design the Chemical Feed Equipment around pre-engineered duplex/triplex metering pump packages • Sigma control version or Gamma/L pumps were selected • Triplex metering pump packages were selected as this was a new membrane facility equipped with two membrane trains • The triplex pump packages included two primary pumps and a back up that could serve either of the primary duty pumps.

  4. Opportunity Engineer wanted to allow other manufacturers to bid as qualified bidders but, since the wastewater treatment plant has had Sigma System packages in place since 2003, the owner helped to change the specification. The specification was written: ProMinent Fluid Controls, no substitutions allowed.
