CARIS HOM AML 2.0 Released November 2004 Highlights: • Support for v1.0 and v2.0 of AML product specifications • Toolto convert AML v1.0 data to v2.0 • New advanced topology checks to improve verification of cell geometry • Enhanced Object Import Utility that supports line and area features • New object dictionary builder

CARIS HOM AML 2.0AML v1.0 and v2.0 support Import, edit, create and update/maintain v1.0 and v2.0 AML data • Select and switch between AML product profiles at any time • All operations including QC/QA and product creation will be based on the active product profile Set the AML product working environment

CARIS HOM AML 2.0Intelligent AML v1.0 to v2.0 converter Tool to easily convert AML v1.0 data to v2.0 • Conversion rules are stored in an editable lookup table in XML format • Tool can be run on one or more data sets (batch mode) • All actions performed (e.g. replace object) are written to a log file for review

  9. CARIS HOM AML 2.0 Enhanced Object Import Utility Object Import Utility now supports import of point, line and area features from text files or any OBDC compliant data source (e.g. MS Access, Oracle)

CARIS BASE Editor New application for storing and managing survey data Offers improved generation of selected soundings, 3-D surfaces and contours and depth areas Highlights: • Supports industry standard data formats (XYZ, GSF..) • Ability to generate depth areas automatically • DEPARE objects auto-populated with DRVAL1 & DRVAL2 • Export soundings, contours and depth areas to S-57 • Publication Designer for plot layouts and printing • 3D fly-through project window Means faster and more efficient creation of CLB AML’s!

Other CARIS developments relevant to AML GML support libraries have been created in preparation for reading and writing GML • This functionality has yet to be implemented in any products • Capability to write to ‘basic’ GML is a priority • Issue remains in dealing with different flavors (custom profiles) of GML; a ‘basic’ or generic GML reader may not be able to handle this data Ongoing work with GRIB and NetCDF format data • E.g. CARIS MetOcean project (real time display of meteorological and related information) can receive meteorological data in GRIB format
