  1. Warm Up Find an angle between 0° and 360° that is coterminal with 1190°. Find the degree of this angle in radians

  2. Answer Find an angle between 0° and 360° that is coterminal with 1190°.

  3. THE UNIT CIRCLE

  4. This circles has a radius of 1. We call this the unit circle because the radius is one unit. (0,1) (1,0) (-1,0) (0,-1)

  5. Use SOH CAH TOA to figure out the coordinate of the point below, knowing that the radius of the circle is 1. (0,1) (-1,0) (1,0) 30° (0,-1)

  6. Now, find the coordinates of the following two points. 45° 60°

  7. Now that we know the points for one quarter of the Unit Circle, we can label the remainder of the unit circle.

  8. Here is the unit circle divided into 8 pieces. Can you figure out how many degrees are in each division? 90° 135° 45° 180° 0° 225° 315° 270°

  9. Can you figure out what these angles would be in radians? 90° 135° 45° 180° 0° 225° 315° 270°

  10. Here is the unit circle divided into 12 pieces. Can you figure out how many degrees are in each division? 90° 120° 60° 150° 30° 180° 0° 210° 330° 240° 300° 270°

  11. Can you figure out what the angles would be in radians? 90° 120° 60° 150° 30° 180° 30° 0° 210° 330° 240° 300° 270°

  12. Homework Memorize the unit circle! You will need to because these angles are commonly used in math! You will be quizzed three times. Each quiz will be 10 minutes long. When you get an A, you will stop quizzing. If you don’t get an A after Friday, you will keep your highest grade.
