  2. UM at met.no • Met Office – met.no collaboration initiated in 2002 • First quasi-operational runs with UM3km in 2003 • MC2 has been faded out, plan is to also replace MM5 • UM 4km runs on 280 SGI-CPU’s. The UM also runs on met.no Linux cluster.

Aftenposten newspaper: • Record rainfall created major problems in Trondheim on Wednesday morning. • Flooded creeks forced firemen to evacuate three homes in the early hours of Wednesday morning as water rose high enough to begin pouring into houses. • "Large amounts of precipitation have fallen and it is still raining. It looks terrible, water is running everywhere," operation leader Birgit Monsås of South Trøndelag police told news agency NTB. • Ørlandet received a record amount of 62.5 mm (2.5 inches) of rain in 24 hours, 54 mm of that falling after 8 p.m., passing the previous mark of 54.3 mm set in August 1989.
