  1. KEYS TO A SUCCESSFUL MEETING

  2. The first purpose of our meeting is to evangelize.

  3. Romans 1:14 I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. 15 So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

  4. Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

  5. A second purpose for our meeting is for our members and other brethren from other areas to be edified. Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

  6. 1. Like Paul requested in Col. 4:3, we need to pray that the door of opportunity will be open for us to touch as many lives as we can with our meeting.

  7. 2. We need encourage each other to attend all the meetings that we can.

  8. 3. Many times people just need encouragement to attend the meeting, so let us not fail to encourage each other to attend and to encourage each other to invite others to our meeting.

  9. 4. Let us become zealous at handing out flyers this week and inviting everyone we know to attend.

  10. 5. We have to be prepared to greet our visitors as they come in the door and show them that we care about them.

  11. 6. When we start the meeting, we need to show that we are interested in what is going on.

  12. John 4:35 "Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 "And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 "For in this the saying is true: 'One sows and another reaps.' 38 "I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors."

  13. 2 Corinthians 2:12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord, 13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia.

  14. Luke 14:15 Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, "Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!" 16 Then He said to him, "A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 "and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.' 18 "But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.' 19 "And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' 20 "Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' 21 "So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.' 22 "And the servant said, 'Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.' 23 "Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 'For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.' "

  15. 1 Kings 18:27 "Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened."

  16. Acts 17:11These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

  17. 1 Peter 4:9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

  18. In conclusion, let us approach our gospel meeting with the right attitude and consider its: • Purpose • Preparation • Prospects • Our Presence • Our Participation
